Roderick Vos is a versatile product designer, active in several areas within the interior world. The Roderick Vos Studio works for many Dutch and foreign companies including – apart from Linteloo – names like Alessi, Driade, Royal Tichelaar Makkum, Spectrum, Moooi, and Van Esch.
As a designer, Roderick Vos has a special, often intuitive, way of working. From a small sketch, which is immediately worked out to actual scale, an initial prototype follows. This allows him to literally come into touch with every aspect of form, the handling of the materials and production during the creative process, and that is why many of his products, despite an industrial semblance, retain a typically craftsmanlike appeal.
Sozu is a type of water fountain used in Japanese gardens. Usually made of Bamboo, it consists of a hollow pivoting arm attached to its vertical pipe. Water pours from this tube or pipe into the arm. This concept inspired Roderick Vos to create a simple looking faucet for Zeromix. Three versions of Sozu will be launched within a few months.
